2020 EVENT DETAILS
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Long Island will look a little bit different this year. As always, the safety of our patients, survivors, volunteers and staff is always a top priority.
This years' Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Campaign is going to be a hybrid of different engagements, as we know everyone has a multitude of comfort levels, but we want to make sure we can still come “together” to fight the fight against Breast Cancer. Please see a listing below of some of the activities we are planning. Most all of these will not be launching until the beginning of October.
• Jones Beach activation is in the approval process. We are hopeful to have a social distant activation of some kind there. Details coming soon!
• Virtual Mosaic : You can submit pictures of yourself “making strides” your own way. Launching Oct. 1st .
• Tons of Fun! We will be having ways to engage participants in the things that Make Strides so special through our website and social media channels ie: Performers, survivor ceremonies etc. We plan to have different streamed activities leading up to event day. More details coming soon!
Please make sure that you are signed up to receive emails from us when we confirm and announce all of the items above.
Making Strides Your Way!
City Hunt Team Event!
Teams raise at least $500 to play. Then, using the cityHUNT digital app, with clues created exclusively for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer supporters, cityHUNT takes the classic scavenger hunt to the next level. Instead of looking for a list of objects, your group of up to five players will follow clues to solve problems, take pictures, make videos, and celebrate breast cancer survivors. We encourage social distancing and wearing masks while you play.
Pink Forward Step Challenge
Support Making Strides Against Breast Cancer by joining the Pink Forward Breast Cancer Step Challenge. From October 1 – October 11, we will step in honor, in memory and in support of every woman and man who has ever been touched by breast cancer. Our goal is 10 million pink steps forward in support of a future free from breast cancer. Are you ready to step up to the challenge?
Registration is now open! Join today at www.runsignup.com/pinkforward
