Summer Pre-College Portfolio Student Exhibition

Artists' Reception: Sunday August 18, 3:30pm to 5:30pm
High School students participating in the Art League of Long Island’s 24th Annual Summer Pre-College Portfolio Program exhibit works created during their time in the summer program. A comprehensive, high quality art portfolio is a requirement for entry into the top art colleges in the U.S. The high school students participating in the Art League’s summer portfolio prep program have been working hard to build on their portfolios, creating artwork that meets the requirements which include drawing from the model and a well-rounded representation of the various visual arts mediums encompassing drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture. The first of the two three-week sessions began the Monday after the fourth of July holiday; the second session begins the final week of July.
The exhibit takes place in the League’s Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery, a state-of-the-art bi-level gallery known to host locally and internationally acclaimed artists. The exhibit runs August 10 through August 18. The closing reception takes place August 18 from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. The Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery is open free of charge Monday through Thursday 9am – 9pm, Friday 9am – 4pm and weekends from 11am – 4pm.
