Bridgehampton Benefit's 5th Annual Summer Gala on July 27th will be hosting Professional Baseball Outfielder Carlos Beltran’s retirement party. Additionally, the event is combined with our charity event, Operation Rise Up, in collaboration with Carlos’ foundation. All proceeds will directly go to Puerto Rico to help rebuild their medical infrastructure which was destroyed during Hurricane Maria.
In the past we have collaborated with celebrities such as 50 Cent, and Gene Simmons for amazing causes such as the Starkey Hearing Foundation - but this year we are holding this event close to our hearts due to Carlos’ personal connection with Puerto Rico and the people there. Born in Manatí, Puerto Rico, Carlos Beltrán, known for his impressive career as a Major League Ballplayer and widely known for his tremendous humanitarian work, has personally funded and continues to support, relief efforts for his hometown. The Carlos Beltran Foundation (Fundacion Carlos Beltran) (CBF) donated $1 million to Puerto Rico after the devastation of Hurricane Maria and helped raise nearly $400,000 more through an online charity drive. It has been over a year, but much is still needed. This need is the heart of our mission as we continue to help Puerto Rico “Rise Up”.
